About
Hi, I’m Andrea (yes, in Italy it’s a man’s name!).

I live in the Euganean Hills, in the province of Padua, not far from Venice. This blog is about the places I know best: the towns and countryside around Venice that most visitors never get to see.
Many travelers spend their days in Venice, Murano and Burano, and miss the rest of the Veneto. Yet a short train ride away there are beautiful places with far fewer crowds. For each one I give you a route, how to get there by public transport, and what to see in a half or full day, with a map you can download and photos I took myself.
You may wonder why you should trust my directions. I work as a CAD software consultant, and my region is full of industries, so I travel constantly between companies, often by train and bus. After years of this, I know the regional public transport well: which train to take, where to change, which bus gets you to the town center.
I love photography, languages and discovering new places, and this blog brings them together. Every photo on this site is mine, and if you’d like photos of your trip to Venice or the Veneto, get in touch at [your email].
